Prior to lessons with Michelle, I experienced debilitating neck pain resulting from a herniated disc. As a working musician, this was a significant problem;  sitting through practice, rehearsals and concerts is physically demanding.  I tried physical therapy, massage, chiropractic, acupuncture, and even cortisone injections, all of which provided various degrees of temporary relief but no long-term solution. I had been introduced briefly to the Alexander Technique many years ago and decided to give it a try.

Michelle has a very calming personality and is very attentive to feedback that I have regarding what is or isn’t working.  As I learned the methodology through weekly lessons, I quickly gained a much stronger understanding of how I could use my own physical awareness for injury- and pain-prevention. Alexander Technique is the only consistent long-term solution I have found for managing my pain, and I frequently recommend AT study with Michelle to my colleagues with similar chronic work-related discomfort.
