Lesson 3

Dalal is a University student studying piano, music education and conducting.  The sitting series shown here helps pianists develop awareness of how to use bones, not muscle tension, to be centered and grounded at the instrument without “holding”.  This frees the arms and back the range of motion required for advanced repertoire, without difficulties resulting in tendonitis, carpal tunnel or ganglia.  If the large muscles and bones in the back, chest, abdomen, shoulders and upper arms are not doing their jobs correctly, the smaller muscles and bones of the hands, wrists and forearms will suffer.
